This was a fun project. In my second year of filmschool, they FORCED us to use old filmstock and scratch the hell out if it. The result was then played back on a Steinbeck editing station. I filmed the result live on the Steinbeck preview screen and noticed that if i played some parts back at an extremely slow pace, it looked like a landscape moving by. Because the scratching of the black filmstock left a yellow-ish transparent film, it made me think of the moon.
And then composited everything in After Effects and made a little trippy filmstock experimental film. Hipster-cred restored!
